About the Position: Serves as the subject matter expert for staff actions and correspondence such as policies, memos, letters, awards and evaluations to provide technical, formatting, and administrative direction in accordance with published regulations and policies in the Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA), G-4 3/5/7 Operations Directorate.
Duties
Prioritize and manage staff actions to ensure timely execution in accordance with suspense dates and requirements.
Utilize the Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2) task management tracking system to plan, organize, prioritize and review staff actions.
Establish internal controls, coordination, and synchronization of directorate taskers (internal and external), actions, information papers, and strategic communications.
Respond to inquiries from staff elements, the Secretariat, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Assistant Secretary of the Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology, and Congressional Liaison staff elements.
Compile narrative and statistical material and prepare related background information concerning the status of taskers for the Director's use in briefing higher officials.
Manage the Director’s and Deputy Director’s daily and long range calendars and prioritize appointments, briefings and meetings.
Serve as the liaison in matters of personnel actions requests.
Assist with the coordination, preparation, submission, and monitoring of military evaluations for assigned officers and enlisted personnel, leave requests, training requests and awards.
Utilize the Army Records Management System (ARIMS) to create and maintain official recordkeeping requirements necessary to conduct official business.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience providing technical guidance on executive administrative policies and/or procedures; reviewing staffing actions for conformance with guidance to ensure issues are properly answered; and analyzing incoming staffing actions utilizing a Software Solution system such as Enterprise Task Management Software (ETMS2) to determine course of action. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcements. Current employees applying under VEOA are subject to time-in-grade restrictions like any other GS employee.
