Duties
As a Public Health Analyst (Policy) you will:
Develop reports or presentations and performs a variety of analytic duties involving public health and other program issues that contain complicating elements.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with other organizational units including Federal agencies and quasi-governmental groups and other key partners including national and international organizations.
Report to the senior leadership on evaluation activities which are tracked by program, center, agency, departmental, and administration leadership.
Apply knowledge of public health principles to the identification of strategic programmatic and scientific areas in need of strengthening as well as new areas for program development.
Lead special projects such as preparing decision papers relating to the funding of programs for use in briefings for a variety of officials, including White House and OMB officials and for getting decision on major policy issues.
Provide analysis and synthesis in support of those responsible for answering Congressional and constituent organizational requests that are highly sensitive and complex, and ensures that responses are consistent with the organizations mission and goals.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, which must include the following experience: developing materials for congressional briefings, hearings, and/or other congressional requests; Evaluating public health policy, legislative, and regulatory documents for impacts to public health programs; and reviewing potential policy content in scientific, technical, and other non-policy documents. .
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
College or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools which meet these criteria, please refer to
