Duties
As a Public Health Advisor you will:
Participate with the director and fully share in the responsibility for planning, evaluating and managing the programs of the Division.
Serve as senior Public Health Advisor and management coordinator of national and international healthcare-associated infection prevention and patient safety program activities.
Develop, recommend and/or approve modifications to project activities.
Provide authoritative advice, guidance, and assistance to center's executive senior leadership team on all matters related to the management, administrative, support, financial and technical programmatic operations, initiatives, processes, and/or procedures of the division's programs.
Supervise a small contingent of positions.
Exercise delegated managerial authority to set a series of annual or multi-year long-range work plans and schedules for in-service and contracted work.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-15 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level, which must include the following experience: managing, implementing, and leading public health programs related to healthcare safety, strategic planning, and fiscal management; and implementing processes for development and execution of program objectives and initiatives.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
College or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools which meet these criteria, please refer to
