About the Position: Serves as a Housing Manager in the Housing Division/Directorate of Public Works located at an Army Garrison. Responsible for the planning, management, administration, coordination and implementation of the housing management program(s).

Duties

Provide oversight of all housing related activities including utilization and day-to-day operations. Analyze and prepare statistical data for a variety of reports. Recommend new ordinances, regulations or amendments for improvement of housing administrative policies. Resolve problems by planning, scheduling and coordinating the operation and utilization of the facilities.

Requirements

  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position is an inclement weather essential position, and the incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
  • Position may require after hours call-back for emergencies.

Assists in the development of plans for restoration, modernization, and/or replacement projects for the installation, AND 3.) Prepares and presents briefings for the organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Management, Public Administration, Real Estate or Facilities. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to DetailHousing OperationsHousing Requirements Determination and PlanningProblem Solving Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
