About the Position: Serve as a Housing Manager in the Housing Division/Directorate of Public Works located at an Army Garrison.
Duties
Responsible for the planning, management, administration, coordination and implementation of housing management programs.
Analyze and prepare statistical data for a variety of reports.
Update housing databases to ensure accuracy (e.g., Military Housing (eMH) database).
Investigate and arbitrate rental complaints by and/or between landlords and tenants.
Collect data for a variety of reports pertinent to availability of housing, quarterly data on customer service, and Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) surveys.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a valid state driver?s license and any installation and/or DoD license required for the type of vehicle being driven.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Communicate directly with tenants to address housing concerns. 2) Assist with electronic input of housing information (for example, occupancy maintenance and repair projects) (3) Process applicants for permanent and temporary quarters. 4) Conduct joint tenant-management inspections of quarters. And 5) Coordinate the request for repairs and new furnishings (for example, carpeting, blinds, etc.). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Management, Public Administration, Real Estate or Facilities. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
