You will serve as a TEST & EVALUATION FLIGHT TEST TECHNICIAN in the RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT GROUP, WEAPONS & WARFARE SYSTEMS TEST DEPT, WEAOPNS EVALUATION T&E DIVISION, AIRE & STRIKE WEAPONS T&E of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.
Duties
You will support the design of test programs to assess the performance of various systems and system concepts.
You will assist with developing test methods for evaluating performance and designs test scenario(s) to yield valid and measurable quantitative test results.
You will assess safety hazards and mitigates risk in testing and create Test Hazard Assessments.
You will determine resource and test support requirements, including manpower, money, material and facilities and coordinates support with schedule.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final top secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Ordnance Handling cert, a Non-Aircrew Cockpit Systems (NACS) qualification, Power Cart License and Air Conditioner Cart License.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DT-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Using Test and Evaluation processes to test weapons, sensors or platform systems; 2) Using risk management processes in development of test planning strategies and test execution; 3) Training and mentoring personnel in Test & Evaluation processes; 4) Working with the program office, joint services and contractors to ensure Test & Evaluation requirements are met.
