Duties
The primary purpose of this position is: To conduct current operations planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting of
squadron activities. This includes coordinating for, tracking and supporting current, immediate and/or pending unit taskings
or operations as well as providing conflict resolution.
Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the 22 STS Current Operations.
Commits ST forces in support of higher headquarters taskings.
Supports local operations for 22 Special Tactics Squadron.
Administers the Industrial Security Program.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays and/or overtime and may require occasional 12-hour shifts.
- Will be required to work in response to short notice operations.
- Incumbent may be required to be on standby after normal duty hours.
- The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver’s license is required for the position.

This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. Incumbent of this position is subject to the possibility of a random drug test.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions- Miscellaneous Administration & Program (0301).
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level (or higher) grade level or equivalent pay systems in the Federal service (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, or private sector). My experience includes In depth knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to squadron-level issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of military operations and program management in such areas as war, mobilization, deployment, exercise, command and control, special operations, rescue, or similar operations; Knowledge of the various command entities involved in overall planning and coordination of military operations and the ability to convey complex concepts and technical procedures; In depth knowledge of workings, characteristics, and composition of agency special operations weapons systems and relationships to other weapons systems and concomitant military operations, strategies, tactics and associated logistics.

EDUCATION: Completed a Ph.D. or equivalent graduate degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit copies of your college transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of military operations planning as it applies to assigned programs, operations, weapon systems, personnel readiness, tactics, and strategy in support of major military operations such as war, mobilization, deployment, exercise, ISR, Special Operations, command and control, rescue, or similar operations.
Knowledge of Air Force and command program goals and objectives; the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones; methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions related to actual events; and the relationship of the various command entities involved in overall program planning and execution of military operations and evaluation of the same.
Knowledge of fact finding and coordinating techniques to obtain information and coordinate mission requirements, functions and procedures, and comprehension of Special Tactics (ST) operations, regulations, principles, and peculiarities of ST operations scheduling.
Ability to plan and coordinate military operations; and prepare solutions to broad, important, and sensitive military operational and contingency issues; to include applying established agency safety and security policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues; and maintain good working relationships. Ability to access or locate information using a personal computer and software program.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
