Duties
You will play a significant role in support of the commands Comptroller for fund holders, annual budgets, evaluate history of trends, conduct analyses and report unexpected changes occurring or anticipated.
You will apply extensive budget, accounting, and financial management procedures and techniques for different activities within an extensive accounting system structure.
You will apply skill in maintaining and reconciling accounts, analyzing and tracing discrepancies, and determining underlying causes to make necessary adjustments.
You will use skill in operating a personal computer and automated systems to input and manipulate data, to recognize error messages and make corrections.
You will conduct monthly reconciliations of current and prior years "pending" documents against official accounting reports to verify for completeness and accuracy of accounting data.
You will analyze trends and develop reports for information pertaining to expenditures such as travel, information technology costs, and reimbursement or trust fund agreements.
You will work as a team member to solve problem resolutions towards budget and fiscal matters.
You will serve as the Defense Travel System (DTS) subject matter expert in order to manage and execute the commands travel requirements, provide training, and ensure directives, guidance, and processes are in compliance.

- This is a Financial Management Level 2 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyze budget forecasts and overhead cost distribution methods between multiple accounts and funding sources; receives documents (e.g. purchase orders, travel vouchers, contracts, requisitions) to review accounting methods and make required corrections; prepares monthly financial status reports reflecting fund availability and obligations balances; and communicate to a diverse audience in regards to advice, recommendations, and guidance to resolve command fiscal matters.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
- I have successfully completed master's or equivalent graduate degree or
- I have successfully completed 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or

- I have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
