The incumbent serves as a Program Support Assistant (PSA) at the Atlanta VA Health Care System (AVAHCS) under the Executive Director Service Line. The PSA's role is to provide administrative and clerical expertise in support of timely completion of customer focused taskers for our Veteran and staff community. Responsible for various administrative and logistical support functions o f the front office with direct oversight from the Director's Executive Assistant, as the incumbent's supervisor.
Duties
Duties for this position may include, but are not limited to:
Prepares, edits and archives all official correspondence requiring signature or approval.
Assists with coordination of Executive Management schedules as needed.
Reviews Congressional info reviewing the info and assigning the applicable service line within the Patient Advocate Tracking system for timely closeout of the task.
Screens all visitors and telephone calls for Director Suite visitors.
Assists with submitting the time cards as an Alternate Timekeeper.
Assists with administrative updates to Front Office correspondence, as needed.
Assists with necessary action regarding Executive Leadership Team, in support of closing out commitments.
Assists with updating email groups to ensure appropriate placement based on departing and arriving personnel within the applicable service lines.
Makes accommodations for dignitaries and Executive-level personnel.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/16/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: the collection, compilation, and/or tracking of data and statistical information in support of the organization's program operation. Collects necessary data, assists with the preparation of national reports, and submits required documents. Maintains frequent contact with service line personnel to provide accurate rosters of patients and staff, while obtaining information to ensure the accuracy of program data. Performs work involving the collection, compilation, and /or tracking of data and statistical information related to program operations. Receives and correlates data preparation of reports and completes reports within established time frames. maintaining suspense files for document tracking; preparing correspondence, memoranda, minutes, agendas, reports, and other documents; entering work orders/change tickets for clinic operations and patient care; other duties as required.'

Physical Requirements: Sitting, walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items are involved in this position. Work is largely sedentary, but does include frequent in person visits to other areas of the Medical Center. Additionally, relationships and circumstances with patients and medical and administrative staff can be intense and place employee in a position of stress.
