The employee in this role is responsible for performing a wide range of duties related to personnel processing across various human resources functions. This includes critical activities in support of staffing, employee relations, performance management, and benefits. Collaborating closely with Human Resources Specialists and other team members, the incumbent plays a vital role in supporting HR initiatives.

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.
To qualify for the GS-07 based on specialized experience, you must have at least one year of equal or equivalent experience equal to the GS-06, which includes:
Experience processing a variety of personnel actions, including new hires, promotions, and separations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal regulations and organizational policies.
Experience providing guidance to employees and management regarding personnel actions, including benefits, compensation, and personnel information, ensuring a clear understanding of processes and timelines.
To qualify for the GS-08, you must have at least one year of equal or equivalent experience equal to the GS-07, which includes:
Experience processing a variety of personnel actions, including new hires, promotions, and separations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal regulations and organizational policies.
Experience providing guidance to junior HR Assistants, employees, and management regarding personnel actions, including benefits, compensation, and personnel information, ensuring a clear understanding of processes and timelines.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Personnel and Human Resources - Knowledge of hiring, classification, benefits, labor relations, negotiation, and Federal, state, and local employment regulations.
Oral Communication - Express information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); make clear and convincing oral presentations; listen to others, attend to nonverbal cues, and respond appropriately.
Reasoning - Identify rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyze information and make correct inferences or draw accurate conclusions.
Written Communication - Write in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
