You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Engineering and Planning Department (Code 200) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD working directly for teh Chief Engineer (Code 240.
Duties
You will concur on test procedures, technical work documents and schedules affecting principle ship conditions.
You will review applicable production test schedules
You will review, progress, and assure timely completion of nuclear interface work as requested by other areas in the shipyard.
You will coordinate and oversee the continuous overview of ship's systems readiness in order to support key events and production scheduling.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience demonstrating mastery of advanced technical concepts, principles, and practices of shipboard systems engineering sufficient to manage, coordinate, review, and provide expert technical/engineering guidance and advice in detail for complex maintenance, repair, construction, and overhaul of a variety of naval vessel classes of conventional and nuclear ships.
Experience demonstrating technical knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical and structural systems/components.
Experience operating systems and equipment with regard to their installation, operation, and interface with other systems.
Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical documents for complex nuclear and non-nuclear ship class systems and alterations.
Experience executing complex administrative, technical and/or professional work, which directly and substantially affects the successful execution of a project. Assignments may involve work in a broad range of activities and highly specialized engineering functions, involving new concepts and new and varied problems to be solved.
