You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the CLASS MAINTENANCE PLAN (CMP) DIVISION of CARRIER PLANNING ACTIVITY.
Duties
You will lead and direct other engineering technicians, management and program analysts, and/or life cycle analysts in the life cycle maintenance and modernization of nuclear aircraft carrier propulsion systems.
You will maintain Incremental Maintenance Plan (IMP) line items for all maintenance requirements related to cognizant systems and equipment to ensure technical accuracy and completeness.
You will be the primary liaison in all matters related to nuclear propulsion and interface regularly with senior level personnel.
You will be responsible for development and accuracy of the nuclear cognizant portion of the Baseline Availability Work Packages (BAWP); this requires directing, mentoring and training other team members.
You will serve as the technical consultant and advisor to the Carrier Planning Activity (CPA) regarding nuclear cognizant maintenance and modernization requirements.
You will establish advance planning milestones for nuclear cognizant aircraft carrier BAWP requirements.
You will train department supervisors, management and program analysts, life cycle analysts, engineers and engineering technicians on nuclear aircraft carrier maintenance strategies and life cycle programs.
You will maintain records and provide periodic reports on status of assignments; including plans of actions and milestones, budget, expenditures, progress, correspondence, organizational/program history, timekeeping and obstacles.
You will advise and coach others involved with the aircraft carrier CMP processes in order to address issues, concerns, and requirements of the aircraft carrier community.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector managing the lifecycle maintenance and modernization engineering projects performed on surface ships (e.g., aircraft carriers) in support of naval fleet operational readiness objectives.
