You will serve as a LEAD ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Planning Department (Code 200) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will provide technical guidance for Project Lead Engineering duties, conducts final reviews, and provides leadership to engineers in support of shipyard waterfront availabilities.
You will review and assures timely completion of non-nuclear interface work, completed by the team and as requested by other areas at NNSY by obtaining required concurrences and technical resolution of nuclear Interface problems.
You will lead, coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities
You will determine resource requirements to meet existing and projected interface workload.
You will observe work of assigned team members and assess training needs and core competencies
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience possessing a mastery of advanced technical concepts, principles, and practices of shipboard systems engineering.
Experience implementing knowledge of engineering principles applied to US Naval Ships maintenance, repair and construction, and reactor plant fundamentals and operation.
Experience inspecting and repairing submarine hatches.
Experience training and/or mentoring engineers in the subject of submarine hatches.
Experience leading projects or jobs of subordinates.
