You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT/INFOSEC) at AIRTEVRON WING NINE.

Duties

You will coordinate timetables for, and the delivery of software and hardware Moves, Adds, and Changes (MACS). You will gather facts about the user's requirements and balance them against command priorities and existing schedules in order to produce efficient and effective scheduling of computer services. You will provide recommendations and alternative approaches or modifications to accomplish the desired result and to take full advantage of new and/or upgraded system capabilities and services. You will prepare and maintain required system documentation certification of standalone systems in accordance with agency, major claimant, and local standards. You will ensure all requirements for Information Assurance/Security (INFOSEC) are applied to Navy and non-Navy systems and are in compliance. You will ensure system users are provided annual Information assurance awareness training and provide an annual report. You will develop reporting procedures and ensure that security violations and incidents are properly reported up the chain as required.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position work role code 441 Network Operations Specialist proficiency level basic the incumbent is required to obtain/maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain required DoD 8570 IA training and certification requirements for this designated information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II position within 6 months of accepting this position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an Operating System Certification.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing Information Technology customer support services by troubleshooting and analyzing problems related to Information Technology products, services, and security measures to ensure services are provided effectively. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education:

Successful completion of a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
OR
Successful completion of 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
