About the Position: Serves as the Brigade Director of Logistics and as such is the senior logistician in the brigade and the principal logistics advisor to the 597th Transportation Brigade commander, located at Fort Eustis, Virginia.

Duties

Serves as the Brigade Director of Logistics and as such is the senior logistician in the brigade and the principal logistics advisor to the Brigade commander. Performs a wide variety of administrative, technical, and analytical duties in the development of program policies, defines requirements, and reviews budget/program estimates. Consults and advises the Brigade Commander on all logistics related matters. Develops, coordinates and directs logistics management for Brigade on all logistic contingency related operations.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization. Incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty.
• Position requires travel and participation in meetings, conferences, and training classes and to conduct assistance visits at other terminals and supported commands. Occasional TDY travel is required up to 20% of the time.
• This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
