About the Position: This position falls under the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Tidewater Market, Army Health Center McDonald, at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Newport News, Virginia under the Directorate of Resource Management serving as Chief, Logistics Division, planning, coordinating and directing overall operation of the Logistics Division, developing and administering logistical activities to meet the needs of the Medical, Dental and Veterinary Commands to accomplish the command mission.
Duties
Plan, coordinate and direct the overall operation of the Logistics Division.
Develop and administer logistical activities to meet the needs of the Medical, Dental, and Veterinary Commands in the accomplishment of the commands mission.
Execute the logistical financial programs related to materiel, equipment, maintenance of equipment and facilities including Defense Working Capital Fund, Direct health Funds consumer appropriations, (OMA), and Other Procurement, Army (OPA).
Coordinate directly with US Army Medical Command, US Army Medical Materiel Agency, the General Services Administration and other wholesale supply systems to facilitate the logistical services within the MEDDAC/DENTAC/VET.
Develop operating programs and conducts reviews and analysis thereof and conducts in-service training programs.
Serve as the Facility Manager for the Medical Dental, and Veterinary Activities; primary point of contact on all matters related to operations maintenance, repair, and construction of all buildings, grounds, and mechanical equipment housing.
Technical advisor and consultant on all Direct Health Care Provider programs related to Personal Service Contracts and responsible for sourcing, requirements development, and requisition of all personal services contracts within the command.
Coordinate the command's Facilities Space Management Program which covers requirements at Fort Eustis, Williamsburg Medical Home, and Fort Story.
Supervise two branch chiefs and serves as the first line supervisor for employees in the Facilities Management Branch.

- Position designated as Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other emergency situations (natural or man-made disaster) incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the OPM General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes at least 3 of the following: 1) managing a medical supply program; 2) planning for annual facility maintenance of an assigned medical or dental or public health activity; 3) managing a housekeeping program in a medical facility; 4) assist with writing and reviewing specifications for maintenance and repairs of facilities; 5) provide staff, advisory, consulting, and review services in the area of logistics.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
