You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the NAVSURFWARCEN PORT HUENEME DIV, SENSORS WEAPONS & LAUNCHERS DEPT E00 in the DEPOT ENGINEERING E63 of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.
Salary ranges per location: Yorktown, VA: $88,183- $161,090; Port Hueneme, CA: $101,121 - $184,725. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently Yorktown, VA: $136,323.00; Port Hueneme, CA: $156,323.00).
Duties
You will provide technical oversight and coordination for the removal, installation, and alignment of Terminal Defense Combat Systems on-board US Navy ships.
You will manage the Combat Systems program planning, funding, scheduling, Work Statement
development (SOW), pre/post installation testing, and execution of work.
You will provide oversight of all Fleet refurbishment work executed (Tobyhanna Army Depot or contractor) for preservation of the Onboard Ship Refurbishment Program and Limited Refurbishment Program.
You will serve as the Central Point of Contact, providing technical leadership for a team of engineers and technicians in resolving Fleet Combat System issues.
You will lead the Material Condition Assessment Program (MCA) and review assessment reports to determine Combat System Refurbishment requirements such as Life Extension Refurbishment Program (LERP).
You will lead engineering, technical and logistics personnel tn developing and implementing programmatic requirements from systems modernization efforts.
You will assign technical tasking, provide recommendations and solutions to technical related issues, and develop project budget and manpower/workload requirements.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing ship weapon system designs and project requirements to develop installation testing plans and execution of work for system modernization of a warfare program.
