Duties
Identifies developmental and training needs of employees; provides and/or arranges for needed development and training.
Serve as Lesson Learned Military Analyst for the United States Army Special Operations Command providing operational direction, oversight and management of the US Army Special Operations Command program.
Develops advisories for customers responsible for collection and evaluation of documents from the complete range of military knowledge in support of the growth of the Special Operations Lessons Learned reporting system.
Directly supports Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO) and SOF operations through the collection of Observations, Insights, and Lessons (OIL) and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP).
Applies subject matter expertise in research methodologies and techniques to locate hard-to-find military and agency resources.
Assigns work based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of the employees; identifies developmental and training needs of employees; provides and/or arranges for needed development and training.
Provides technical oversight; develops performance plans and rates employees; interviews candidates for subordinate positions; recommends hiring, promotion, or reassignments; takes disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands.
Requirements
- TDY travel will be required approximately 25% of the time and may be up to 50% of the time.
- Incumbent to obtain and maintain a Special Sensitive Background Investigation (SSBI) and a Top Secret clearance with SCI access.
- Position is subject to random drug testing IAW AR 600-85.
- This position may require frequent travel for substantial periods for normal duty, both inside and outside the continental US.
- On short notice, the employee may be required to work overtime and work hours out-side of normal and on holidays.
- On occasion, the employee may work in hostile or adverse environmental conditions because of requirements to operate alongside deployed staffs and units.
- Drug Testing Position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in the Federal service which includes leading and coordinating complex studies and projects related to Lessons Learned at the tactical, operational and strategic levels of war. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above).
