Duties

Serves as the Assistant Chief of Staff for the United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School (USAJFKSWCS) for Soldiers and Civilians world-wide. Directs the planning and execution of financial processes, human resources management, information management, business planning, personnel resource assignments and skill development, and oversees other critical support services such as equal opportunity, sexual assault prevention, risk management and special staff functions within the command. Advises the Commanding General on actions critical to the USAJFKSWCS mission including integration DOTMLPF-P. Conducts special analysis and resolution of issues related to resources required and/or available to carry out missions/functions. Responsible for relaying the CG’s guidance, requirements, and intent to the Command, ensures contracting support is being delivered across all mission operations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance.
  • This is a Drug testing position.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08).
  • TDY travel 15% of the time.
  • A one year supervisory probation may be required.
  • One-year probationary period may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Planning and execution of financial processes, human resources management, information management, professional development, a risk management and staff functions within the command. 2) Determine organization goals, develops plans, formulates, defends, and justifies personnel and financial resources, and approves distribution of resources to support the enterprise. 3) Oversee program planning, and direction in areas such as organization realignment, standardization of functions, application of new technology and long range facility planning. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
