About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Garrison, Directorate of Human Resources Office of the Director located at Fort Detrick in Maryland.
Duties
Provides guidance and services to support the mission of Directorate of Human Resources.
Provides administrative and management advisory services relative to policies and procedures.
Maintain an awareness of and evaluates the condition of various internal operating processed, procedures, and actions.
Responsible for the day-to-day management of critical administrative programs and payroll systems in support of the organization and its' employees.
Serves as a coordinator, manages civilian training requirements, oversees mandatory training, and has expert working knowledge of the various electronic automation systems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires occasional Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience with the Federal government which includes(1) Experience reviewing and/or processing personnel actions requests for an organization; (2) Experience processing employee payroll and/or timecards for an organization; (3) Experience processing requests purchase requests for an organization and (4) Experience using computer software such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS SharePoint. This is definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business or other related fields.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
