This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA-ENTERPRISE ENGINEERING DIRECTORATE (OE22).
Duties
Participates in planning, development, and maintenance of applications and services, performing systems life-cycle activities required to turn a set of requirements into a capability.
Formulates analytical studies to develop strategies for achieving approved long-range objectives cloud computing/mobile environments, technologies, methodologies and facilities.
Coordinates efforts, provides advisory services, and conducts reviews with key officials and top engineering and scientific personnel from within the same or other agency, other government agencies, and private industry.
Conducts modeling, simulation and analysis; systems engineering and architecture development; other engineering activities to support effective and efficient DoD enterprise capabilities.
Leads and advises program specialists and exercises hands-on responsibility for project oversight and coordination efforts with other information systems professionals and technical personnel.
Develops and maintains the project schedule for all assigned projects to ensure that deliverables meet planned milestones, and reviews completed work to ensure that project objectives and the quality of deliverables are met.
Serves as a technical team lead for projects and design, deploy, and maintain cloud solutions to ensure compliance with federal regulations and security standards, and respond to requirements requests.

- In accordance with DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subjected to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements in 12 months and any future Cybersecurity.
- This position requires the incumbent to travel away from their normal duty station up to 20 percent of the time.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Basic Requirements:
For the Computer Engineer GG-0854 and Electronics Engineer GG-0855 Series
A. Degree: professional engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR B. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. For the Computer Scientist GG-1550 Series:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions (U.S. Department of Education/National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.)
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as supporting and developing efforts in engineering and architecture development; engineering standards development using engineering methodologies to determine requirements and produce required outcomes.
To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as delivering comprehensive engineering services, including modeling, simulation, analysis, and cloud solution development, to drive innovation and ensure engineering excellence, while providing a holistic approach to meet organizational needs.
