About the Position: Serve as a Program Manager (Deputy Product Manager) for Mid Range Capability Product Office in Task Force STRIKE in Program Executive Office (PEO) Missiles and Space. As the assigned management official, provides overall direction and guidance for the development, acquisition, testing, product improvements, fielding, and sustainment of the project.
This is a DoD Demonstration Project position. The NH-04 pay band encompasses the GS-14 step 1 to GS-15 step 10 grade levels.
Duties
Responsible for all aspects of acquisition to include development, testing, system integration, production, fielding, sustainment and product improvements with a multi-million dollar annual budget.
Interface with external stakeholders on all matters effecting program execution.
Balances cost, schedule and performance to assure best value for the Army.
Review programming documents received from HQDA to determine effect on assigned programs.
Determine needed capabilities to accomplish objectives as set forth, indicating areas requiring assistance or revision by higher headquarters.
Oversee POM planning, cost estimating, program planning, programming, budgeting, program integration, interoperability and oversight.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements in career category "Program Management" for Advanced certification within 48 months of entrance on duty.
- This position requires a 3-year tenure agreement. Selectee must execute, as a condition of appointment, a written agreement to remain in Federal service in this position for at least three years.
- This is a Critical Acquisition Position.
- One year supervisory probationary period may be required.
- One year probationary period may be required.

One year of specialized experience at the NH-03 pay band (GS-13 equivalent grade or band) is required. Specialized experience is defined as:1) Providing project oversight in areas such as cost, scheduling, performance and risk to accomplish effective management of assigned acquisition programs; 2) Providing advisements of defense acquisition processes in areas such as development, test and evaluation, contracting, production, and financial management to ensure program objectives are met; and 3) Reviewing documents in areas such as planning, cost estimating, or life-cycle to determine the effect on assigned programs and make improvements.
