Works with the Lead Visual Information Specialist and Strategic Communications team in carrying out a wide variety of electronic and visual communications activities, communication, and design practices, branding guidelines, graphics consultation, and production timeline.

Qualifications

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must (1) meet the Education Requirement for the series, (2) provide a copy of transcripts for verification, AND (3) meet either the education or experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration. To qualify for the GS-09 on Experience, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-07 it must include: Experience providing immediate multimedia/visual information services to customers utilizing computer graphic design software for graphics of multi-color illustrations, photographs, editing imagery, etc. Experience creating, designing, identifying and developing a range of visual information such as original graphics designs, consumer and business materials in digital and print formats, illustrations, logos, concepts and visual styles for print, publications, brochures, pamphlets, infographics, short animations/videos, template development, PDF formatting, charts, fact sheets, reports, email campaigns, signs, posters, newsletters, power point, multimedia presentations, templates for the web, social media, and website designs. To qualify for the GS-09 on Education alone, You must have 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or have been awarded a master's or equivalent graduate degree. You can also qualify based on a combination of graduate education and experience. Education

Individual Occupational Requirements:

Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. Some positions may also require subject-matter knowledge of medicine, science, or technical equipment.

Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis.

Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes planning the preparation and use of photographs, illustrations, drawings, and other art work, charts, diagrams, dioramas, maps, slides, overlays, and other kinds of visual material for use in communicating information through visual means.
