This Supervisory Information Technology Specialist position is located in the Office of Administrative Management (OAM), Information Technology Branch (ITB) at the National Institute on Aging (NIA). Serves as the Branch Chief of the Information Technology Branch (ITB) and responsible for the day-to-day operations of NIA extramural IT applications development and design, and implementation of data processing systems, security, and computer software in support of the NIA mission.
Duties
Coordinate the work of staff members in connection with technical design and support efforts across the NIH and institute.
Oversee and manages the development of statements of work and manages contractors performing IT work at NIA.
Analyze and validate requirements, overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of automated information systems for input and retrieval of NIA program, administrative, budget, and quality control procedures.
Analyze and report on the adequacy of security of data systems and disaster plans.
Assess user training needs related to ongoing software applications and develop plans for user training concerning NIA-supported software and applications, IT security and other relevant topics.
Provide follow-up training and support to assure that users are effectively and efficiently using software and hardware resources.

Qualifications
You qualify at the GS-15 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:
You must demonstrate in your resume IT related experience demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience obtained in either the private or public sector, and/or completion of specific, intensive training that demonstrates that I possess each of the following four competencies:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail;
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; and is committed to providing quality products and services;
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; and listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately;
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; and uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations;

At least one year of of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, typically gained in the IT field or performing the following types of IT related tasks:
managing the design, development, and implementation, of Information Technology infrastructure, systems, and applications;
managing Information Technology programs and projects;
providing guidance to senior management officials on Information Technology strategies and planning;
overseeing technology innovation for the development of advanced computer techniques; and
fostering a collaborative and results-oriented IT environment through targeted projects.
