About the Position: The mission of the CCAD is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. CCAD is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance.
Duties
Lead and manage a branch performing a variety of quality assurance oversight functions of production operations in a highly industrialized depot complex.
Engage in the maintenance, repair, and/or overhaul of rotary wing aircraft, assemblies, sub-assemblies, accessories, components, and parts in accordance with the Depot Maintenance Concept.
Provide technical and administrative guidance to subordinates related to meeting the rotary-wing aircraft depot overhaul quality assurance concepts.
Recommend and/or direct changes deemed necessary because of unforeseen developments or mission changes.
Conduct efforts to assure work is accomplished effectively, solve technical and management problems, and make recommendations for improvement to methods.
Monitor the accomplishment of assignments and a wide variety of projects, reviewing and evaluating programs during execution and utilization.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is designated as moderate risk involving Public Trust (Tier 2: Non-Sensitive, Moderate Risk (Public Trust) a background investigation including a credit check to determine suitability for Federal employment is required.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 17-Nov-2011
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination.
- One year supervisory probationary period may be required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) business or travel requirements of 5% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Reviewing written quality or inspection procedures for adequacy, and evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of quality/inspection systems; Analyzing quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality/inspection system; Investigating customer complaints and deficiency reports, and providing identification of causes to appropriate authorities; and Computing data, summarizing results, and preparing reports or charts depicting pertinent relationships using statistical methods. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above).
