You will serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist (Aircraft) in the Quality Assurance Department of NATC CORPUS CHRISTI.

Duties

You will serve as a technical authority to develop, administer, and evaluate aircraft maintenance quality assurance programs to ensure contractors involved in the maintenance, overhaul and modification of products meet their responsibilities. You will identify, analyze, and provide solutions pertaining to acquisitions and maintenance of quality assurance for all aircraft systems and aircraft tra1ning systems/instruction. You will ensure all program requirements are met, including all inspection and reporting requirements utilizing strict program monitoring procedures in validating flight safety. You will serve as a technical advisor to the Detachment management, Training Air Wing, staff, and contractor management on the principles and techniques of maintenance quality assurance.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Confidential Financial Disclosure Report - You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

FOR GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level, GS-09, or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience utilizing database management systems (e.g., NALCOMIS, OOMA, OIMA, 3M) to conduct, analyze and evaluate aircraft maintenance quality assurance programs to include inspect processes and recommend corrective action. Examples of qualifying experience include analyzing and evaluating aircraft maintenance to identify operational or procedural deficiencies and recommend corrective action to ensure aircraft maintenance, overhaul or modifications meets quality and certification requirements. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

- successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position. - OR -

- successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position. - OR -

- successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled. - OR -
