About the Position: Incumbent will serve as a Supply Technician (Office Automation) performing duties related to supply transactions, supply management and operations, issuing expendable and non-expendable supplies, equipment, and managing inventory.
Duties
Serve as Assistant Transportation Coordinator; obtain pricing information from the Transportation Services Division, prepare and submit Motor Transportation Requests to the Director for approval, and transmit completed paperwork for funding.
Store equipment and supplies, issue expendable and non-expendable supplies and equipment, and manage inventory.
Research vendor sources, product availability, deliverability, and cost.
Establish and maintain sufficient stock levels, ensure proper storage procedures are used to avoid damage and organize and arrange items in a manner that will ensure easy access and inventory.
Analyze office requirements for new or replacement office equipment, furniture, supplies, materials, repair parts, and services.
Process paperwork, maintain records, monitor purchase transactions, and enter information into the document register.
Maintain ready reference files of frequently consulted regulations, policies, rosters, directories, and other material.
Operate a computer to input transactions into an automated database (i.e., General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS)), and prepare a variety of narrative reports, correspondence, charts, and statistical tables.

Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a pre-employment physical examination and annual physicals thereafter.
- This position requires lifting of 50-70 pounds.
- This position requires a valid, state-issued, driver’s license.
- A qualified typist is required. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
- You may be expected to travel for business in this position up to 5%.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience utilizing an automated system to track supplies and experience resolving inventory discrepancies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Supply Management, Business, etc. (NOTE: You MUST provide a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. (NOTE: You MUST provide a copy of your transcripts.)
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 -minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). Please see the specific instructions regarding supporting documentation for Time in Grade requirements in the REQUIRED DOCUMENTS section, below.
NOTE: Applicants must meet all Time-in-Grade requirements and experience requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Current Federal employees applying under VEOA eligibility are subject to time-in-grade restrictions like any other GS employee.
