THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN, Position Description Number D0889000 and is part of the KS 35th Division, National Guard.
Duties
A SUPPLY TECHNICIAN, GS-2005-09, serves as the point of contact for customers with supply and service problems. Identifies and resolves customer complaints such as lost shipments, issue shortages, back orders on priority requisitions, erroneously canceled requisitions, excessive order shipment times, warehouse refusals, etc. Researches such areas as document flow and control, report accuracy, funds utilization, priority management and regulatory compliance. Provides input to supervisors and program managers to correct procedural problems on automation and improve overall operations. Follows up to ensure issues have been resolved to the satisfaction of the customers and supervisor.
Analyzes customer complaints for trends or evidence of systemic problems. Recommends corrective action and/or advises the Supply System Analyst of problems requiring in depth systematic analysis. Notifies supervisor of persistent violations of standard procedures.
Makes regular contact and visits with other USPFO activities, maintenance activities, supported units, inventory control points, supply activities from other states, and higher headquarters to gather information and resolve supply problems.
Supports mobilization mission of logistical support for units mobilizing for federal missions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- KANSAS ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position

Qualifications
Military Grades: E4 through E6, however enlisted applicants who hold a higher grade, may provide a written statement of understanding with their application indicating a willingness to be administratively reduced in grade to the highest grade advertised, if selected for the position. Desired Military Assignments: 91, 92 series
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered; knowledge of basic or commonly applied rules, procedures, or operations such as, filling out, posting, filing, controlling, or coding documents and/or transactions; experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade, GS-7; knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment; experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts; experience performing various aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to segments in one or more major areas of supply management; experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc.
