Duties
Serve as the Safety and Occupational Health Director for the U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC).
Responsible for planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, evaluating, and supervising the USARPAC Safety Program.
Responsible as the technical safety advisor/consultant to the USARPAC Commander and senior leaders.
Formulate Theater level safety policies and procedures for a wide range of accident prevention measures.
Principal staff advisor for USARPAC on all accident prevention matters to include force protection, safety policies and procedures, accident reporting and analysis, occupational safety and health hazards, and field training exercises.
Represent the USARPAC commander when attending safety meetings, seminars and conferences.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position may require overtime.
- This position may require work outside of normal duty hours.
- This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
- The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty and will receive training to ensure mission accomplishment of sustaining base operations during mobilization.

???????Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing military safety and occupational health management programs; applying safety and occupational health laws, regulations, principles, theories, practices, and procedures to advise and resolve technical matters dealing with military safety and occupational health management programs; and developing and implementing safety and occupational health standards, practices, and procedures to eliminate or minimize safety issues and potential hazards. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
