About the Position: Serves as training instructor/writer and participates in course development. Responsible for both pre-instructional and instructional actions including overall maintenance and improvement of assigned course areas of liquid logistics and distribution. Applies a variety of instructional techniques including lecture, seminar, conference and group discussion, programmed instruction, self-paced instruction, and multimedia instruction.

Duties

Instructs in schoolhouse on 92F, 92L, or 92W liquid logistics areas of concentration, keeping abreast of continuing state of the art changes in systems and evolving technology. Implements the Army Learning Model and other learner-centered instructional design models/strategies; facilitates learning by requiring students to apply critical thinking skills to maintenance problems based on real-life situations. Responsible for organizing workshops and training sessions to support faculty and staff development for 92F and/or 92L and/or 92W and/or Petroleum and Water Officer courses. Initiates minor changes to improve course layout or to add additional material. Develops and implements special training programs directed by the Quartermaster School commandant to meet the needs of the operational force. Assists in the review and/or preparation of course development including job analysis, task inventory, job task data cards and task analysis information sheets.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes demonstrating a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction experience in liquid logistics distribution, storage and issues with the associated systems, subsystems and components that encompass one or more of the petroleum supply/laboratory specialties or water treatment specialties such as distribution, storage, pump theory, pipeline operations, water purification/treatment, etc. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
