The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Aircraft Maintenance Contingency Planner as a member of the Maintenance Readiness Management Branch. The branch is responsible for developing, evaluating and directing overall command-wide management, control, policy and administration of all deployment activities for over 10,000 aircraft maintenance personnel.

Duties
1. Evaluates, develops and directs overall aircraft maintenance planning policies and programs applicable during contingency operations for all Air Mobility Command (AOR) locations throughout the US Transportation Command area of responsibility (AOR).
2. Plans logistics aircraft maintenance support for the warfighting Commands by working with the Air Staff, other Services, USTRANSCOM, and other Unified Commands, AMC and other MAJCOMS throughout DOD to determine aircraft maintenance requirements in support of major and smaller scale contingencies.
3. From an operational perspective, represents the AMC logistics Aircraft Maintenance community at higher management-level meetings within the organization, and at MAJCOM, HQ, DOD, and other agencies.
4. Develops and manages aircraft maintenance deliberate plans, Designated Operational Capacity (DOC) statements, TPFDDS, Resource Readiness Review (RRR) inputs and leads the review team for site surveys/SATAFs.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain TOP SECRET security clearance w/ access to SCI.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Clerical and Administration Support Positions for Logistics Management Series 0346
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes thorough knowledge of DoD and AMC policies and procedures to plan and develop air transportation and supply chain operations to satisfy requirements and interpret DoD operations policies, procedures, and guidelines. Practical knowledge of systems design along with familiarity of requirements and operational understanding of air transportation and supply chain distribution during all stages of operation/execution. Knowledge of major issues, program goals, work operations, and managerial channels of organizations involved in logistics plans. Knowledge of analytical techniques and evaluation criteria used in measuring the effectiveness and efficiency of air transportation policies and programs to improve operations, support plans, and in developing and modifying work methods. Knowledge of support requirements to provide coverage of funding, supply, training and a variety of other technical support activities. In depth knowledge of air transportation and supply chain distribution practices and operations to plan and accomplish a variety of complex work assignments.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Comprehensive knowledge of Air Force logistics concepts, principles, practices, procedures, and regulations applicable to a full range of logistics management to include deployment planning and operations and logistic plans under the peacetime and wartime conditions to develop and recommend policies and procedures for the command.
2. Knowledge of structure, contents, codes, internal and external interfaces, update procedures, and uses of automated logistics mobilization and planning programs and databases.
3. Ability to organize, formulate, development, analyze, review, plan, and coordinate Aircraft Maintenance operation requirements, data, policies, and procedures.
4. Skill in written and oral communication.
5. Knowledge of AMC's aircraft maintenance programs to include internal and external interfaces, procedures, and uses of automated planning programs and databases.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
