About the Position: This position is located in the U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC), Brigade (BDE) Headquarters, S-1, Personnel Division. Its purpose is to ensure that BDE Military and BDE/Battalion (BN) Civilian Human Resources (CHR) actions receive timely processing.
Duties
Process military human resources actions in accordance with Standard Operation Procedures (SOP).
Uses proper formatting to accurately prepare administrative reports for assigned organization.
Ensures quality of personnel actions received before forwarding to higher headquarters.
Utilizes multiple personnel systems to prepare civilian personnel action request (i.e., Requests for Personnel Actions (RPA’s).
Collaborates with assigned civilian personnel service center to support the civilian human resources program.
Reviews procedural correctness of human resources actions to make recommendations to management.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires that the employee occasionally s away from the normal duty station.
- This position requires the incumbent to be able to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.

CURRENT US Army Recruiting Command Employee's- One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing an established human resources system (i.e., Electronic Military Personnel Office (EMILPO) to process or prepare personnel actions; reviewing personnel action for accuracy and completeness; preparing personnel management or strength management reports; and following record management procedures to maintain files. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
All OTHER APPLICANTS: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing an established system to process personnel actions (i.e., military rewards, separations); collecting personnel management data to prepare correspondence or reports; maintaining personnel files in accordance with record management procedures; and operating multiple data management systems to input information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
