About the Position: The incumbent monitors, administers and manages various programs to provide direct support to members in the United States Army, with emphasis upon the United States Army Reserve.
Duties
Initiates, reviews or assists in completion of personnel actions in a wide variety of functional areas.
Initiates Promotions, board support, benefit programs, awards and decorations, retirements, occupational specialties, ID cards, commissary cards.
Maintains either a permanent or temporary record of the action using various automated or manual systems.
Maximizes the resources and authority of the position to assist the soldier through oral and written communication .
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Employee must possess the skills of a Qualified Typist.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assemblerecords for submission to superiors for approval; 2) Refer employees to proper point of contact to assist with employment issues; AND 3) Review employee promotion eligibility prior to processing in order to verify information is correct. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-6).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted
