You will serve as TECHNICIAN in the Expeditionary Systems Division, Expeditionary Warfare & Littoral Operations Department (Air Cushion Vehicle (ACV) Digital Modeling Lead) of NAVSURFWARFCTR PANAMA CITY DIVISION.
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The full performance level NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13, step 10 (currently $134,435).
Duties
You will serve as the primary technical expert in resolving complex technical issues relating to SolidWorks three-dimensional (3D) modeling and technical data packages and drawings.
You will develop and execute SolidWorks simulations in finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics.
You will lead the application of digital drafting and 3D modeling technical engineering practices across the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of expeditionary systems.
You will apply methods and techniques of three-dimensional (3D) modeling engineering practices and generate technical data packages with minimal rework or the Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) program.
You will identify and recommend corrective actions for weaknesses and gaps in the digital drafting and 3D modeling technical engineering processes and practices.
You will select the appropriate process from many alternatives to prepare or edit drawings and models per drawing notices or engineering change proposals, and then generate drawings and 3D models from specifications.
You will make graphics, sketches, or complex assemblies/models.
You will be responsible for training, mentoring, and collaborating with Sponsors, Flag Officers, senior personnel, engineers, technicians, military, contractors, vendors, and other support personnel with regards to digital drafting and 3D modeling.

You will document work actions in writing, provide updates on project status, and document procedures with minimal rework or oversight.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to perform occasional sea duty.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/12 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying digital drafting or three-dimensional (3D) modeling technical engineering techniques to support the design, development, or maintenance activities of an engineering project or program.
