You will serve as a Engineering Technician in the Facility Management Division in the Public Works Department of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE. Duties

You will interpret drawings, plans, and specifications to complete assigned tasks. You will prepare equipment estimates utilizing computerized software, estimating handbooks, and RSMeans databases. You will perform inspections in support of Infrastructure Condition Assessment Program (ICAP) for assessment of plant conditions. You will prepare contract documents and drawings for maintenance, repair, alteration and renewal of real property and equipment.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require occasional travel from normal duty station to remote sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

For current/former Federal applicants: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-10) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties 1) Applying engineering concepts developing plans for major repairs or replacement of components that occur periodically over the expected service life of the facilities; 2) Relating to a broad range of projects including construction, renovation, maintenance, and facility repair; 3) Utilizing application software to prepare cost estimates, job plans, specifications, and schedules;4) Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical manuals; 5) Responsible for customer interface, the definition of requirements, and the development of designs, plans.
