Duties

You will provide overall coordination of the construction quality management program for assigned projects. You will write and speak, concisely and authoritatively, to report on progress and outcome of technical assignments and to present recommendations. You will ensure the contractor is conducting site safety self-evaluations and validate quantity, condition, and approval of materials on site against actual work-in-place prior to invoice payments. You will attend selective quality control, preparatory and initial meetings, and monitor three-phase checklists for accuracy and thoroughness. You will maintain extensive contact with key contractor representatives to promote an atmosphere of partnering and cooperation; and to quickly resolve problems and maintain construction schedule.

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying engineering concepts, principles and practices applicable to a range of engineering disciplines (i.e, civil, mechanical, electrical, and environmental) required for the design, layout, execution processes of construction operations in order to provide input on construction projects; 2) Making recommendations to resolve problems encountered during construction operations to ensure compliance of safety requirements. 3) Reviewing technical engineering specifications, drawings and statement of work covering complex and diverse engineering designs; 4) Monitoring construction projects to a safe, successful and timely completion.
