About the Position: Serves as the Adjutant for Army Field Support Battalion (AFSBn) at Ft Liberty, N.C.

Duties
Responsible for the oversight and management of Personnel (S1) activities. Provides guidance, oversight, and/or administrative support to the Battalion on wide variety of HR functions.
Responsible for a wide variety of assignments concerned with the effectiveness and efficiency of military and civilian Human Resource (HR) programs and operations within the Battalion.
Maintains liaison with the AFSB, Civilian Personnel Advisory Center (CPAC), Army Sustainment Command (ASC), and Army Material Command (AMC) to obtain, clarify, or submit information pertinent to HR issues and/or projects.
Interprets regulations, directives, and policies to advise, assist and instruct staff on matters within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
Coordinates military personnel and pay matters within the battalion.
Monitors and updates civilian personnel entries on the Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA).
Requirements

- This position is designated as Mission Essential (ME).
- The position is needed to ensure facility operations in support of Continuity of Operations Programs (COOP) and/or performance of duties and completion of tasks that are mission essential functions of the organization.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance for the duration of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes which includes: 1) providing oversight and administrative support for all civilian and/or military personnel functions; 2) recommending new recruitment strategies to improve hiring processes; gathering facts, information and data to identify human resources solutions; and 3) conducting studies to determine trends and areas for process improvement in human resources functions.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11 grade level.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
