You will serve as a Security Specialist/International Lead in the Corporate Business and Analysis Group
Security Department/Security Support Division/Security Administrative Branch of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU.
Duties
You will analyze and research security issues, identify solutions, and communicate those solutions effectively, both orally and in writing, to the Command Security Manager and/or department chain-of-command, as appropriate.
You will establish priorities and coordinate work across projects, programs or people, and effectively balance work demands.
You will provide daily support in general security administration by answering security inquiries.
You will provide guidance for the control and protection of classified and sensitive unclassified material/information during visits and subsequent contacts with foreign nationals and commercial representatives.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for STRL jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower pay band. This requirement is called time-in-band. Time-in-band requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band or grade level (DA-03=GS 9/10) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following:
Applying knowledge of security policies and procedures for the proper protection, handling and marking of controlled unclassified information (CUI) and classified information.
Providing training to the workforce under area of cognizance, ability to manage and lead security specialists, establishing priorities and coordinating work across projects while maintaining an effective work balance on your team.
Managing and leading other security specialists and assistants from an oversight perspective and provide training and guidance, as necessary.
Communicating with leadership, research projects, identify viable solutions, and establish priorities.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR: Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR: Possession of an LL.M., if related OR: A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
