You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST in the CORPORATE BUSINESS & ANALYSIS GROUP, SECURITY DEPT, ADVANCED SECURITY DIV, ADVANCED PROGRAMS (CLK) BR
of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.
Duties
You will coordinate PHYSEC plans and procedures integrated with other security and operational disciplines.
You will supervise and maintain oversight of the command’s INFOSEC programs, provide informational briefs to leadership, and act as an advisor to program/project personnel.
You will provide accurate, timely, and relevant information and recommendations to minimize unnecessary risk and protect against the full spectrum of threats and hazards to command missions and people.
You will be responsible for maintaining staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees as well as developing personal growth opportunities and providing leadership and supervision.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current SPeD Security Fundamentals certification.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-9/12) or pay band (NM-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: 1) Utilizing a wide range of Special Access Program (SAP) security related concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices; 2) Coordinating the objectives and plans of two or more specialized security programs to support and promote information sharing and strategies; 3) Interpreting a variety of security program laws, directives, regulations, and guidance to assist subordinate organizations in establishing and operating internal security programs; 4) Utilizing analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review, evaluate, and apply several alternatives according to the security requirements for highly specific situations, availability of materials, relationships with other protective programs, and cost/benefit considerations; 5) Utilizing INFOSEC, PERSEC, PHYSEC principles to perform work related to protecting classified information and force protection/mission assurance; 6) Analyzing data related to facility planning and assessments in order to make recommendations to management and coordinate the implementation of management direction.
