Duties

You will maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities; and providing leadership and supervision. You will administer all aspects of the security program protecting the Command from threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information or material considered vital to mission interests. You will establish priorities and coordinating work across projects, programs or people, and effectively balancing work demands while anticipating and overcoming difficult obstacles to achieve a timely and positive outcome. You will oversee workforce security training program. You will provide the Security Support Division Head and Command Security Manager with relevant information and well-analyzed recommendations to minimize risk and protect against the full spectrum of threats and hazards to command missions and people.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final top secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NM-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Applying knowledge of security policies and procedures for the proper protection; 2) Assessing threats and hazards to command activity, and recommending controls to reduce or eliminate those risks; 3) Providing security training to the workforce under area of cognizance; and 4) Managing and leading a team, establishing priorities, and coordinating work across projects while maintaining an effective work balance throughout the branch.
