ORGANIZATIONAL LOCATION: Indian Health Service (IHS), Southwest Region, Phoenix Area - Colorado River Service Unit, Parker Indian Health Center. Position is located in Parker, Arizona. Primary purpose of position is to provide administrative support services for the Medical Services Division. Position is supervised by the Medical Services.
Duties
Major Duties:
Greets visitors to the facility and answers all incoming call, transferring to appropriate department and providing phone coverage for other departments.
Receives, routes, or otherwise handles incoming and outgoing materials such as controlled or routine correspondence, reports, memoranda's, and other forms of written communication. Performs office automation duties to prepare documents such as correspondence, forms, and reports which can include technical material, graphs and charts.
Timekeeping duties for service unit, prepare travel orders and travel vouchers for the Health Center.
Manges the appointment and meeting schedule for the Director of the organization unit and other senior staff members as well.
Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-303-06 - One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Advanced knowledge of two or more administrative processes such as scheduling for upper management using electronic calendars; respond to complaints form the public; compile information from a variety of sources to prepare reports; prepare and submit supply requisitions according to established rules.
GS-0303-07 - One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Recording/taking minutes for Executive staff, Team leaders and Governing body and recording action items; answering questions concerning policies and procedures; and acting in a confidential capacity with respect to daily activities for the office.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
