About the Position: Serves as a Supply Technician responsible for providing staff direction and technical guidance to one or more elements of the command in supply management involving TADSS, equipment authorization, acquisition, disposal, and accountability. Reviews acquisition documents, confirms authorizations, and verifies nomenclature and cataloging data.
Duties
Receive and processes a wide variety of supply forms related to various types of training equipment and other paperwork documenting receipt, issue, transfer, and shipment of property.
Edit all documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with existing policies and procedures. Responsible for cataloging non-standard property and assigning a Management Control Number when required.
Establish and maintain a catalog for all non-standard expendable property.
Provide technical assistance to hand receipt holders for all accountable property.
Maintain a wish list of items required by the various customers to see if items are available.
Ensure all items requiring special processing are excised in accordance with regulations.
Respond to inquiries concerning the availability of various types of training equipment, prepares shipping documents on items requisitioned, and resolves conflicting issues concerning the availability of items reported and what is actually on hand.
Schedule the accomplishment of required physical inventories on accountable property.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain/maintain Secret clearance.
- Must be able to travel 10% of the time for this position.
- This position may require some walking, bending, standing and carrying of light objects up to 35 lbs.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state Driver’s License.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience such as receiving, issuing, acquisitioning, accountability and disposing of authorized equipment or supplies through use of an automated property book, hand receipt, or other supply system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
