About the Position: This position is located at the 30th Medical Group, Vandenberg Air Force Base in Santa Barbara County, California.

Duties

Direct Medical Readiness Program activities and systems to meet Medical Treatment Facility/customer needs. Function as the Subject Matter Expert of the Home Station Medical Response program, advising on requirements, procedures, problems, and regulations. Collaborate with other organizations or entities on creating emergency guidance and/or contingency planning. Manage Medical Readiness Training Program to oversee and coordinate training, resources, and participation. Plan and conduct training and exercises on emergency preparedness and disaster response.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• This position may occasionally require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Tuberculin (TB) test is required.
• Incumbent must successfully complete the Medical Readiness Management Course (MRMC) IAW AF guidance after selection.
• Incumbent must successfully complete the initial level of the Public Health Emergency Management Course (PHEM) within one year of designation as a Medical Emergency Manager and complete sustainment training every subsequent 4 years in the role.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
