The Financial Systems Accountability Officer reports directly to the ETA Deputy Comptroller and is responsible for providing leadership, direction, policy, planning and performance relating to ETA systems of financial internal controls for day-to-day accounting and budget operations, ad hoc reporting, and special assessments.
Position is not in the bargaining unit.
Duties
As the Financial Systems Accountability Officer, you will work closely with the ETA (Employment and Training Administration) Comptroller, Accounting Officer and Budget Officer, other ETA offices, ETA senior executive management, other Department of Labor offices, and other Federal departments performing the following duties:
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Candidate required to obtain the necessary security/investigation level.
- Requires a probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
- Subject to financial disclosure requirements.
- Requires a supervisory probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
Qualifications
You must meet the Specialized Experience to qualify for Financial Systems Accountability Officer as described below.
Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the next lower grade level or GS-14 grade level in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-14).
Qualifying Specialized Experience for GS-15 includes ALL of the following 3 items:
Experience developing and maintaining effective internal control procedures over financial reporting and financial systems to ensure that such controls are operating effectively; and
Experience reviewing agency and departmental financial and business processes to ensure transparency and to adhere to new or revised legislation and regulations; and
Experience managing or leading financial staff, assigning and monitoring work of financial staff, and evaluating and addressing financial staff performance.
