About the Position: Responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating total, cradle to grave, life cycle logistics support for weapon systems within an Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC).

Duties

Assesses requirements, equipment on hand, incorporation of new equipment, and initiates deviations from existing plans. Sustains command supply discipline through effective equipment and supply management programs. Participates in and/or leads a variety of evaluations, review boards, and conferences designed to assess progress in obtaining assigned weapons systems management objectives. Coordinates with representatives of other organizations concerning sensitive and/or complex issues and their organizations. Analyzes TRADOC logistics program objectives, policies, work operations and progress, resource estimates and usage, and any other associated aspects of operating programs. Plans and determines current and future supply requirements to meet customer needs for items of high monetary value and high criticality to readiness. Monitors organizational compliance with Department of Army (DA) and TRADOC maintenance requirements.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • This position may require temporary duty (TDY) for business for up to 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: experience planning, managing and coordinating the life cycle logistics support for weapons systems within an organization; experience evaluating logistical program(s) to determining their compliance with laws, regulations, agreements and policies AND integrating supply, maintenance, procurement and quality assurance into the logistic activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
