About the Position: Serves as a Training Instructor performing duties in support of the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) and its geographic area of responsibility. This position is located with the Lyster Army Medical Center, Fort Novosel.
Duties
Perform training duties associated with provider, nurse, medical technician/assistant and clerical user access and use of the systems for documenting patient care.
Provide basic level course instruction and material to clinical staff in a classroom setting.
Coordinate activities with senior trainer and collects information from Enterprise Service Desk and clinical users to track trouble tickets and individual training requests.
Answer incoming calls for assistance via telephone or electronic transmission, providing some functional issue resolution for supported personnel serviced.
Assist the senior trainer in making necessary modifications to onsite training programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Required to be screened for and obtain necessary immunizations/vaccinations (hepatitis, influenza, etc.), unless exempted by a licensed physician.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes providing verbal and/or hands on training on clinical systems such as electronic health records systems; providing classroom-based training environment using audio/visual equipment to support presentation; coordinating with leadership to determine delivery of training needs; teaching and/or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s), growing and improving the workforce. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Education, Business Administration, Public Relations.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
