About the Position: Serve as an Human Resources Assistant (Military) for the Directorate of Human Resources, Military Personnel Division at Fort Leonard Wood.

Duties

In this position you will work in the Military Personnel Division, Directorate of Human Resources as a Human Resources Assistant. Responsible for the maintenance of military personnel records. Ensures that the force maintains deployment readiness by working with installation leadership to ensure that Solider information is accurate and up to date. Reviews incoming regulations and directives relating to administration and military programs, functions, and procedures, determines impact on current operations, and keeps the Director informed on pertinent changes.

Specialized experience: to qualify at the GS-05 grade level: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Processing all personnel actions with supervision; 2) Preparing documents such as correspondence, letters, and statistical reports with supervisor input; and 3) Reviews records with to ensure all of the Soldiers information is accurate and work is then reviewed for accuracy from the supervisor. OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ClericalHuman Resources Technology UsageOral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
