About the Position: Serve as a Lead Human Resources Assistant (Military) for the Directorate of Human Resources, Military Personnel Division at Fort Leonard Wood.
Duties
Coordinate system problems and updates with higher headquarters liaison and communication with supported units and higher headquarters.
Initiate automated human resources system transactions, such as, arrivals and departures of personnel and coding military personnel transactions.
Provide information regarding a variety of rules, regulations, procedures, and requirements to provide explanations of actions taken of actions taken or recommended.
Perform review of records and other case documentation to ensure they are procedurally correct, and documentation is sufficient.
Generate reports on personnel strength and losses using automated personnel software.
Verify military records to identify discrepancies and gaps in formation.
Make additions, revisions, or deletions to military records to keep them current and accurate in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Using personnel associated software and database programs to facilitate timely and accurate data input; 2) Analyzing case files involving requests for correction of military records; AND 3) Coordinating adjustment of internal procedures and team efforts to preclude recurring shortcomings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcement.
