Duties

Perform a wide variety of tasks pertaining to Military Human Resources transitions, separations, and retirement services. Prepare memorandums, endorsements, messages, and other written communications concerning the mission of the section. Review and analyze case files involving requests for correction of military records. Use personnel associated software and internet data-base programs to facilitate timely and accurate data input. Serve as an administrative expert in assigned functional area; processing the most complex actions and orders. Read and interpret regulations, rules, guidelines and other procedural instructions.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: ) performing administrative tasks pertaining to the processing of military human resources actions to include transition, separation and retirement services; 2) using automated Human Resources systems to enter data and search for records; 3) applying knowledge of military human resources laws and guidance to perform daily tasks; 4) conducting in and out processing of Soldiers; and 5) processing a variety of military personnel actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lowest grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ClericalCustomer ServiceHuman Resources Technology UsagePersonnel Action Processing and Recordkeeping Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
