You will serve as a LEAD INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of a supply program. You will analyze inventories to forecast operation needs. You will execute policies to influence and control assets, use, or disposition of material and property You will analyze supply issues to resolve discrepancies with inventory programs or operations You will brief management to provide status, updates, or other business information.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1) Possesses comprehensive knowledge of inventory management and inventory accuracy policies and procedures; 2) Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of supply system operations and procedures, and ability to apply supply and purchasing regulations, policies and instructions to make purchases, monitor deliveries, and return material; 3) Functions with considerable independence in performing the work and receives minimal supervision; 4) Reviews and analyzes the effectiveness of the broad range of supply support operations performed in the shop store and warehouse; and 5) Proceeds on own initiative, and seek further instruction only when new or unusual problems are encountered Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
I have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
I have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree
OR
